Lotus motorcycle officially revealed
Like Facebook Sometimes it takes someone outside the industry to come up with something entirely new. When I first saw the Lotus C-01, the design made me think of a cruiser, but it is anything but. With a claimed dry weight under 400 pounds (lighter than some sport bikes), the C-01 features a 200 hp 1195cc v-twin, purportedly derived from KTM’s superbike. Despite the long, low look and huge rear tire, the C-01 achieves an incredibly low weight in part from a chassis design that includes a combination of steel, titanium, and carbon fiber. Suspension is an unusual strut design with 80 mm of travel in front and 70 mm in back. The designer of the C-01 is Daniel Simon, formerly with Bugatti Automobiles. The C-01 is limited to a production of 100 units.
