Ugur Sahin Design Ferrari Project F

Εικόνα
Facebook Ugur Sahin Design (USD), a Dutch design company founded in 2007, have developed a number of concept vehicles for a variety of clients over the last few years. But perhaps their most impressive project to date is the Corvette-based Soleil Anadi prototype, which was built in 2011 and shown off at the Top Marques car show in Monaco that year. And while most of their other concepts remain as digital models, however gorgeous they may be, hopefully their latest project will make the extraordinary leap to reality. The car in question is a Ferrari-based model mysteriously called the “Project F” in USD’s correspondence. Although go to their website and it’s found under the title Ferrari FORTIS Concept. So mystery solved. What’s less clear is everything else about the car. Ugur Sahin Design are keeping quiet for the moment, saying only that it’s based on a Ferrari 458 platform, and that the car is a one-off designed for an undisclosed client. It doesn’t take a geniu...

Alfa Romeo Feroce concept – Don’t get it angry

Εικόνα
Facebook If the Alfa Romeo 4C is a graceful, world-class ballerina, then the Alfa Romeo Feroce concept is its steroid-ingesting, bitter-for-no-reason, amateur boxing champion, unemployed cousin. The name Feroce is perfectly suited to the car, meaning “Ferocious” in Italian. It is an electrically powered vehicle dreamt up by Yerzhan Ryskaliyev from Kazakhstan. The Feroce concept was partially inspired by two very different Alfa Romeos. The low slung 33 Stradale sports car, and the more hooliganish GTA 1300 Junior. In Ryskaliyev’s own words; “I wanted to create a real beast with an Alfa Romeo spirit.” Mission accomplished. It isn’t beautiful or sleek. But then neither was the GTA. And that beast part… Nailed it. The Alfa Romeo Feroce has been designed to work with the 8c competizione’s platform. Which – if it were real – would place it in the supercar price bracket. An unspecifed electric drivetrain is the proposed power source of the concept. ...

Bombardier TrailTrike Concept

Εικόνα
Facebook The Bombardier TrailTrike Concept is the work of Charles Bombardier, the same Canadian engineering and vehicle design guru who oversaw the development of the BRP Can-Am Spyder. While working on the road-going Can-Am Spyder, he also imagined what an off-road version might look like. However it hasn’t been until now that those visions have been realised in the form of a number of design sketches. The TrailTrike concept features the same reverse tricycle layout as the Can-Am Spyder, but that’s about where the similarities end. It’s much lighter than its road-going counterpart, and naturally features significantly greater suspension travel. The proposed drivetrain of the TrailTrike is a 2-stroke E-TEC engine equipped with two output shafts, one providing power to the front wheels, and the other transmitting power to the solitary rear wheel. The transmission is a CVT unit. In order to help the rider stay securely mounted, the TrailTrike features a “carving seat” whi...
